Concluso al caldo il breve percorso del Campionato OWSS. A Roma-Fiumicino, nel campo di tiro Testa di Lepre, la terza tappa ha accolto 22 Cowboy dell'Associazione, tutti agguerriti e fin troppo accaldati. Con la promessa che il prossimo anno il calendario sarà stravolto con 6 gare in programma, la prima alla fine di febbraio, poi marzo, aprile, maggio, giugno e l’ultima, l’End of Trail, a settembre, l'annuncio è che in lista ci saranno nuovi (o vecchi) campi di tiro che serviranno a rinverdire ricordi e situazioni mai dimenticate.
Bella gara, come sempre accade a Testa di Lepre, e classifica decimata dai 36 gradi registrati fin dalle 9 del mattino. Sul podio più alto l’imbattibile El Buttero, principe indiscusso delle nostre gare, che ha vinto nella categoria Forty Niner e nella Overall e l’immancabile (per lui) Clean di gara.
Per i Forty Niner salgono sul podio anche Scott Wild Bull e Slayer the Revenge; negli Elder Statesman Roy Colton e Little Range; nei Senior primeggiano Wild Boar, El Gricia e Pit Carson; nei Silver Senior il podio più alto va a Max Miller seguito da Bob Valdez e dal gradito ritorno di Sentenza. La categoria Duelist vede al primo posto Loy Willer e, per una manciata di secondi, al secondo IV Mercury. Primi posti anche per Pecos Gid nella El Patron (più di 83 anni e spara come un Forty Niner!), e Cody Wold per la Gun Fighter.
La consegna dei diplomi è stata anticipata dall’estrazione di tre buoni acquisto del 30% - 40% - 50% messi in palio e concessi dalla UBERTI SpA. «All’AD Giacomo Merlino va il nostro ringraziamento - ha commentato il Presidente Valeriano Machella - così come all’amico Marco Fanciulli che ha seguito tutto l’iter. La Uberti, come accaduto per ogni gara del 2019, c’è stata ancora accanto come mai nessuno ha fatto. Grazie e grazie ancora» - ha concluso.
Un doverono ringraziamento va poi ai quattro R. O. che hanno diretto la gara in modo impeccabile: Bob Valdez e Loy Willer per la Posse uno e Max G. Miller e Slayer the Revenge per la Posse 2. L’ultimo ringraziamento, ma non meno importante, al Patron del campo El Gricia che ha, come sempre accade a Testa di Lepre, offerto il pranzo a tutti i presenti con porchetta, lasagne rosse e bianche, grigliata mista e insalata. Vino e bibite e volontà!

The short course of the OWSS Championship ended in the heat. In Rome-Fiumicino, in the Testa di Lepre shooting range, the third stage welcomed 22 Cowboys of the third millennium, all fierce but too hot. With the promise that next year the calendar will be turned upside down with 6 races scheduled, the first at the end of February, then March, April, May, June and the last, the End of Trail, in September, there will be new (or old) shooting ranges on the list that will serve to revive memories and situations never forgotten.
Nice race, as always happens in Testa di Lepre, and the ranking decimated by the 36 degrees recorded since 9 in the morning. On the highest podium the unbeatable El Buttero, the undisputed prince of our races, who won in the Forty Niner category and in the Overall and the inevitable (for him) Clean of the race.
For Forty Niner, Scott Wild Bull and Slayer the Revenge also get on the podium; in the Elder Statesman Roy Colton and Little Range; in the Seniors Wild Boar, El Gricia and Pit Carson excel; in the Silver Seniors the highest podium goes to Max Miller followed by Bob Valdez and the welcome return of Sentence. The Duelist category sees Loy Willer in first place and, for a handful of seconds, IV Mercury in second. First places also for Pecos Gid in the El Patron (more than 83 years old and shoots like a Forty Niner!), and Cody would for the Gun Fighter.
The delivery of the diplomas was anticipated by the draw of three shopping vouchers of 30% - 40% - 50% offered and granted by UBERTI SpA. Our thanks therefore go to CEO Giacomo Merlino as well as to our friend Marco Fanciulli who followed the entire process. Uberti, as happened for every race in 2019, was still by our side as no one ever did. Thank you and thank you again.
A big thank you goes to the four R. O.s who directed the race impeccably: Bob Valdez and Loy Willer for the Posse one and Max G. Miller and Slayer the Revenge for the Posse 2. Last but not least, thanks to the Patron of the El Gricia camp who, as always happens in Testa di Lepre, offered lunch to all those present with porchetta, red and white lasagna, mixed grill and salad. Wine and soft drinks and will!
